Will the violence ever stop?

The recent news about the Lebanon-Israel crisis have been really sad. Let's pray that sooner there will be an end to this pitiful war that has created more animosity than solutions. We all know that the many of the victims are innocent families, let's not forget to pray for them.

Daniel Powter!

Some may attribute the success of his song "Bad Day" to American Idol but I believe he deserves more than that. He is an amazing songwriter with more impressive pipes. He's got a new single out called "Lie To Me", and it still features his undeniably superb falsetto. The video's good too!

News on Season 10 of The Amazing Race!

Diverse Cast Embarks on 'Amazing Race'
Show's 10th edition includes Muslim team, amputee
July 15 2006

PASADENA, Calif. -- The 10th edition of "The Amazing Race" will kick off with one of the most diverse groups of teams the show has ever had.

The Emmy-winning series, which moves to Sundays in the fall, will feature 12 teams this time, up from the usual complement of 11. Racers include the show's first-ever Muslim team -- a pair of Browns-loving best friends from Cleveland -- along with an Indian-American couple, an amputee (Sarah Reinertsen) who competes in triathlons and a father and his lesbian daughter.

And, yes, there are a couple of models, as well as a pair of Miss USA contestants.

"The range in this cast is remarkable," host Phil Keoghan told reporters Saturday at the Television Critics Association press tour. "We've never had such a broad spectrum of people."

The 12 teams will be put to the test right away, executive producers Bertram Van Munster and Jonathan Littman say. Instead of "easing in" to the competition by sending the teams to Europe or South America first, the teams will first head to China after starting in Seattle.

The racers will also travel to Mongolia, Kuwait, Vietnam and Madagascar. In all, the race will cover some 40,000 miles in 30 days.

The cast looks interesting, I mean, a Muslim, Indian, Asian teams plus the father and lesbian daughter team? That's casting gold for me. Can't wait to see this edition plus the locations are more remarkable this time! The spoilers posted all over Survivor Sucks was true after all.

Wolverine and Batman in one movie!

You've got to watch the new trailer for the magician rivalry movie, the Christopher Nolan film "The Prestige" starring Hugh Jackman (Wolverine) and Christian Bale (Batman). The trailer looks real great and I can't wait to see the film! Do I hear Oscar bells ringing?

Timberlake is back!

Timberlake is back!

After the superb Justified, *NSYNC frontman Justin Timberlake released his first single “SexyBack” from his new album weirdly titled “FutureSex/LoveSounds”. Try to hit up http://www.justin-timberlake.net/ to hear it. You can find the lyrics there too!

Oh, how I wish he would be coming here to the Philippines for a concert, anyways, future visitors to our country are Pussycat Dolls, Black Eyed Peas, INXS (with their new frontman JD Fortune) and Sean Paul.

Speaking of INXS, Rockstar is back now as they find a worthy lead singer for the newest supergroup. After the second episode, I'm going to predict it will be between Toby and Dilana. Josh sounds good too, but he's more fit with AI, I think.

Spider-Man 3 Teaser Poster!

Well, it's on its way to becoming the most anticipated movie of the next year. Now you might think that it's a long way to go, but they have already released a very revealing teaser trailer you can probably see on YouTube! A few days later they've released a kickass teaser poster (though I might have preferred a Sandman teaser poster).

Mariah and Janet to duet?

Now this will make my year! Can't wait to hear it. Apparently, Janet's boyfriend Jermaine Dupri has been planning this for the long time. I pray that it will push through! Here's the article from http://www.accesshollywood.com/news/ah881.shtml

Access Exclusive: A Mariah & Janet Duet?

BURBANK, Calif. (July 13, 2006) -- Mariah Carey tells "Access Hollywood" in an exclusive interview that she's ready to warble with Janet Jackson.

Mariah's exclusive Janet tip came during an "Access" interview that will air Thursday. (Check out "Where To Watch" for your local time and station.)

Jermaine Dupri, record producer and incidentally, Janet's boyfriend, had earlier revealed that he was hoping to record a duet with Janet and Mariah.

When asked about the possibility of a duet with Janet, Mariah told "Access Hollywood's" Nancy O'Dell, "Jermaine (Dupri) keeps saying this, but Jermaine has to call me and tell me about it. I love Janet. Janet is wonderful. I'm a fan. I'll totally do it, but he's got to let me know so we can write the song."

When Janet was asked if there was truth to the two multi-Grammy winners teaming up, she played coy with "Access'" Shaun Robinson on the ESPY Awards red carpet Wednesday night saying, "There may be truth to that."

Ladies, we look forward to it!

Superman returns, to the big screen at least

Raise your hands if you are excited about this movie!

In about two weeks, we will be able to see one of the most anticipated movies of this year, and a new Superman in the persona of newcomer Brandon Routh, who really really looks like a young Christopher Reeve. With Kate Bosworth as Lois Lane and Kevin Spacey as Lex Luthor, and under the helm of first two X-Men movies director Bryan Singer, this movie is bound to be a classic. See the trailer on YouTube to see it for yourself, I especially love the part where he was shot in the eye!

Once again, however, the Philippine local television industry is at its new low with the airing of Captain Barbell, which is without a doubt and without question a copycat of Smallville. I mean, seriously! If you’ve watched Smallville, you’ll know. The plot, the scenes, the characters are copied but of bad bad bad quality. Shame on you people, you’ve just stained on a classic Filipino comic book character. And the worst part is, people actually watch it! What about you, have you seen the similarities?

Their Idols and our upcoming Idol

After the less-than-stellar 5th season of American Idol, here comes our very own Idol for everyone in the Philippines. Philippine Idol will premiere in a few months and I can’t wait. I hope ABC-5 does not fuck this up! Make the damn stage ala-AI. I also pray that we will really have the best of the best not some “singers” who can only pass up for mediocre and disappointing contests like Star In A Million or Pinoy Pop Superstar wherein we are lucky if there is actually one really really good one. Now on to the judges, Ryan Cayabyab is a great choice since he is one of the most respected in the local music industry but the aging Pilita Corrales and the long-forgotten Francis M? Seriously! I would have wanted maybe Martin Nievera or Lea Salonga there, two of the few Filipino artists who are actually talented. Anyways, we are all hoping for a good run for Philippine Idol.

Of all the 5 winners of American Idols, I still think no one can beat Kelly Clarkson. The first and probably the best though Carrie Underwood have been releasing some really country pop songs that are very good. Oh, I remember Carrie’s run on the phenomenal 4th season! That’s actually my favorite of the last three since Carrie is there, and her performance of Heart’s #1 hit Alone is still one of the best performances in the history of the show. Not to mention that season’s other great finds, like Bo Bice, Vonzell (where is she now?) and even Anthony Federov and Anwar Robinson. Well, regarding the Winners’ singles, I still think A Moment Like This is the best closely followed by Fantasia’s I Believe. What about you people, what do you think? Here are the choices:

A Moment Like This – Kelly Clarkson
Flying Without Wings – Ruben Studdard
I Believe – Fantasia Barrino
Inside Your Heaven – Carrie Underwood
Do I Make You Proud? – Taylor Hicks

If you haven’t heard some of them, you can visit bolt.com, my new favorite music site. Just type in the lyrics, oh what the hell, you know what to do!

Teddy Geiger

You have probably heard his new single on the airwaves right now, I personally think he is a better John Mayer or Jason Mraz, Teddy Geiger is only 17, and he’s released his first single “For You I Will (Confidence)”. It’s a great song I believe because the lyrics and the melody are amazing. Here are the lyrics:

Wondering the streets, in a world underneath it all
Nothing seems to be, nothing tastes as sweet
As what I can't have
Like you and the way that you're twisting your hair
round your finger
Tonight I'm not afraid to tell you
What I feel about you.

I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
and cannon ball into the water
I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
For you I will
For you I will

Forgive me if I stutter
From all of the clutter in my head
Cuz I could fall asleep in those eyes
Like a water bed
Do I seem familiar, i've crossed you in hallways
a thousand times, no more camouflage
I want to be exposed, and not be afraid to fall.

I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
And cannon ball into the water
I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
For you I will
You always want what you can't have
But I've got to try
I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
For you I will
For you I will
For you I will
For you

If I could dim the lights in the mall
And create a mood I would
Shout out your name so it echos in every room
I would

That's what I'd do, That's what I'd do to get through to you

I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
And cannon ball into the water
I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
For you I will
You always want what you can't have
But I've got to try
I'm gonna muster every ounce of confidence I have
For you I will
For you I will
For you I will
For you I will

The girl in his music video looks kinda familiar though, is she the one in Laguna Beach?

You should hear him sing, I’ll try to buy his album so I can make a whole review of his debut offering “Underage Thinking”. Check him out!

Hail to all the bloggers!

Hello people, if there are actually any! Please welcome me to the powerful world of blogging. I decided to try this out since I will be a bum for quite a long time, so I wanted to make sure I do something hideously productive. I just graduated 3 months ago and looking for work is not on my immediate list of to-do things. I think I’d rather find a job after I get my license so a bigger opportunity might come my way *crosses fingers*. So anyways, the Internet is my best friend right now since my real and human friends are busy with work. Here’s what to look out for in this blog page, well since I love pop culture, you’ll be reading some movie and TV reviews, latest music finds, comments on worthy issues and in true blog sense, just about anything under the sun. Thanks again for dropping by and hope we can all be in peace with one another.
